IV Hydration

What to Expect During an IV Hydration Infusion
BEFORE
The infusion typically lasts 60 minutes. During your first visit, we will take the time to discuss your medical history, current symptoms, treatment history, and treatment goals. Once we’re both in agreement, we can proceed with the hydration treatment and begin the infusion process. During this meeting, we can discuss any questions and concerns that you may have so that we may provide you with the best possible care.
DURING
Upon registration, the nurse promptly assesses your vital signs, including blood pressure, oxygen saturation level, heart rate, and rhythm. At this time, the nurse also starts an IV and initiates the hydration infusion. During the entire infusion, the practitioner is dedicated to actively listening, addressing any questions or concerns, and offering support.
AFTER
You do not need to arrange for outside transportation, and you should be able to return to normal activities. Our staff is ready and willing to answer any questions you may have following your treatment.

Post-Infusion Care
Bandages
Please keep the bandage on for at least 30 minutes after treatment and replace it if there is any bleeding. Once you remove the bandage, it is crucial to maintain the puncture site’s cleanliness and dryness.
Bruising
After the IV is removed, apply pressure for two minutes. In case of bruising, using a cold pack or ice for 10–20 minutes or elevating your arm can be helpful. Bruising is common and may take up to two weeks to fade away.
Hydration
Keep yourself well-hydrated for 48 hours after treatment by drinking plenty of water. Dehydration can result in symptoms such as headaches, nausea, joint pain, and blurred vision, so staying hydrated is crucial.
Exercise
Please refrain from intense physical activity or exercise for at least 24 hours post-treatment. Perspiration can lead to a faster elimination of the infused substances, diminishing their effectiveness.
Skin Infection
Reach out to your healthcare provider if you notice any signs of a skin infection. It’s important to address any issues with your skin to ensure your health and well-being.
